Edward F. Golden III
74, of Mooresville, passed away April 18, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Edward was born on February 16, 1944 in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late Edward F. Golden Jr. and Ruth (VanAndle) Golden.
Edward was a veteran of U.S. Air Force, serving for 6 years, where he learned to fly planes. After service, being the avid student and having a thirst for knowledge, he continued his education at Western Missouri and received double Bachelor degrees in 1972. He also attended Kansas City School of Watchmaking and Jewelers and Maple Woods Community College.
The sky was truly the limit for Edward as there wasn’t much he couldn’t do when he put his mind to it. He then applied those skills, working as an airline mechanic, flight instructor, jeweler, day trader, worked on the railroad and a commercial pilot for United Airlines for eight years. He also enjoying wearing cowboy boots and was a cowboy at heart. However, he will be remembered for his sense of humor, dancing in the kitchen and living life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife; Billie (Hardwick) Golden, stepsons; Guy Laeufer, Donny Laeufer, and grandchildren; Beau, Wyatt, Markus, Nevaeh and Ashlynn.
A celebration of Edward’s life will be held on Wednesday at 4pm at Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with visitation from 2pm until the service at 4pm. A reception will be held immediately following the memorial service at the Mooresville VFW Post 1111.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be directed to the Mooresville VFW Post #1111, 411 S. Indiana Street, Mooresville, IN 46158.
