Edward Leo Laughlin

97, of Mooresville, IN died Saturday February 23, 2019 at The Decatur Township Center, Indianapolis, IN. Edward was born in Erie, PA, on January 18, 1922, son of the late Leo Mark and Margaret Eleanor Murphy Laughlin.

Edward married his sweetheart, Elizabeth Ann Dodson at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on November 6, 1947 in Erie, PA. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage until her passing in 2010.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his daughter Ellen Laughlin Yount (Jerald) and four brothers, David, Francis, John, and William Laughlin and one sister Catherine Laughlin Dodson.

Edward is survived by his two sons David (Linda) and James (Christine), and his three daughters Sheila Laughlin Ruhling (David), Mary Laughlin Long, Linda Laughlin Brennan (David), many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Edward served Honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in New Guinea, receiving the American Theater, Asiatic-Pacific Theater, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. Edward enjoyed archery shooting, hunting, target shooting with his sons, playing horseshoes and making many trips to Niagara Falls with his family.

A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in Erie, PA.

Final arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
