Eleanor M. Roach, 78, Brooklyn, died November 21, 2011. Eleanor was a graduate of Howe High School, Indiana and Butler Universities and was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She retired from Indianapolis Public Schools after 37 years of dedication and service. Ellie loved to teach gifted and talented students.

An artist, illustrator, author, and authority on Indiana history, she participated in period reenactments at Connor Prairie and also enjoyed the Farmers Day each year in Martinsville. Many of her paintings depict those scenes. She was a Master Gardener and also loved studying genealogy.

Ellie was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and its choir for many years.

Ellie's greatest love was for her dogs. Her constant and steady companions were her coon hounds and golden retrievers. Per her request, please make memorial contributions to One-Paw-At-A-Time Rescue, 191 E. Bunker Hill Road, Mooresville, IN 46158.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Armand and Ruth Holman Roach. She leaves to cherish her memory several close and very dear friends.
