Elizabeth Ann Stephey, 84, Mooresville, passed away peacefully at home January 18, 2020. Mrs. Stephey was born November 21, 1935, in Indianapolis, to the late William Paul and Margaret Estelle (Choat) Richardson. She married R.B. Stephey on June 9, 1951, and he survives.
She attended Arsenal Technical High School. For many years, she and R.B. owned and operated Stephey’s Food Wagon in Mooresville. She also worked as an administrative assistant in the comptroller’s office at Stout Field for a number of years. She enjoyed fishing and was always up for a game of chance. She never turned down an opportunity to play bingo or visit the casino to try the slots. She loved her family and never missed a birthday. Elizabeth will be fondly remembered by her loving family for her fun personality.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dale Stephey; her brother, Bill Richardson and her sister, Diane Johnson.
Survivors include her husband of more than 68 years, R.B. Stephey; children, Janet Lee Brochhagen of Martinsville, Robbie (Shelly) Stephey of Martinsville, and Bobbie Stephey of Mooresville; 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
