Elizabeth L. Mitchner, 85, Mooresville, passed away April 25, 2019. Mrs. Mitchner was born May 20, 1933, in Flint, Michigan, to the late C. Herschel Case and Lena (Webster) Neithercut.
She graduated from Flint Central High School and attended Indiana University. Prior to marrying her late husband, James, she worked for several years at Flint Citizen Investments. Mrs. Mitchner most recently attended Camby Community Church and was previously a member of First Baptist Church of Martinsville, Grace Missionary Church, and Faith Missionary Church. A proud homemaker, she also enjoyed ice skating and assisting Jim with his work in Gideons International.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Case and a sister, Barbara Lorene Koepke.
Survivors include a son, Kent (Linda Hope) Mitchner of Kentucky; grandchildren, David (Sarah) Mitchner, Christopher Brennan, William Mitchner, Becca (Christopher) Mitchner; great grandchildren, Caleb Brennan, Jordan Brennan, John-Henry William Mitchner, and Lilah Sites (Christopher Emmanuel Sherer).
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, 5 to 7 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at the funeral home. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, Salvation Army, or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
