Elmas E. Sweet
89, of Mooresville, passed away January 15, 2018 in St Francis Hospital, Mooresville. Elmas was born on July 29, 1928 in London, Kentucky to the late Rosco Sweet and Willodean (Wagoner) Sweet.
Elmas was a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II. He married the love of his life, Margie (Parker) Sweet on April 1, 1952 and celebrated their 65th Anniversary of Marriage in 2017. Elmas was a machinist for Universal in Beech Grove and retired after 30 years of service. After retiring, he and Margie wintered in Central Florida for over 20 years. He also enjoyed golfing, woodworking, camping, fishing gardening and was known to be very picky about his yard. He was a member of Mt Gilead Church in Mooresville.
He is survived by his wife Margie Sweet, of Mooresville, daughter; Billie Jo (Ron) Dalrymple, of Indianapolis, son; Randall Parker of Cloverdale and three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 4:00pm at Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with visitation Friday from 2:00pm until services.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be directed to the Indiana Blind Children’s Foundation, 7725 N. College Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46240. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
