Elnora Jane Roane

Elnora Jane Roane, 88, Mooresville, died peacefully at home April 30, 2011. She was born July 18, 1922, in Jennings County, Indiana, to the late William Harrison and Beatrice Amelia (Callon) Davis.

Jane enjoyed a 26 year career at Citizens Bank in Mooresville, retiring in 1987 as branch manager of the White Lick Branch. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Mooresville First Christian Church and also a member of the Mooresville Nature Club. She and Hap enjoyed antiquing, collecting and traveling through their loving marriage.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Grover Henry “Hap” Roane.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia L. Straube (Barry) of Baltimore, Maryland and Vicki J. Wallace (David) of Huntington, Indiana; grandchildren, Christopher Straube of Seattle, Washington and Jonathan Straube of Seattle, Washington; many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, 5 to 8 p.m., in the Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, 2011, in the First Christian Church, 525 N. Indiana St., Mooresville. A committal service will follow on Wednesday, at 2:30 p.m., in the Vernon Cemetery, Vernon, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Churches in Mission.
