Elzie K. Wymer

May 26, 1939 — May 28, 2018

Elzie K. Wymer, 79, Camby, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away at home May 28, 2018. Mr. Wymer was born May 26, 1939, in Fair Oaks, Arkansas, to the late Norvel E. and Aileen (Simmons) Wymer. He married Ruth Anne (Mason) Wymer in 1961, and she preceded him in death in 2002. He married Wendy (Freeman) Wymer in 2004.

Elzie graduated from Fishers High School in 1959. He was the owner and operator of Wymer Construction from 1963-2003 and was proud of having constructed buildings in Indianapolis that included Post Road Christian Church and Marian Inc. He was a longtime elder at North Liberty Christian Church and served on the boards of Alexander Christian Foundation and Church Builders of America. Elzie was quite the prayer warrior - praying for many that he included in his prayer book. He was also a strong supporter of Miracle Place for many years and helped with their building projects. He loved his grandchildren, golf cart rides, and his dog Poppy.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy (Freeman) Wymer; his children, Georgia Anne (Capt. Gary) Hook of New Mexico, Eric (Missy) Wymer, M.D. of Mooresville, Dr. Aaron (Cindy) Wymer of Tennessee, Amy Marie (Rick) Domogalik of Zionsville, Marjorie Aileen (Joe) Britt of Mooresville, and Connie Sue (Deon) Brimmage of Mooresville; brother, Wayne Wymer of Shelbyville; sister, Janet Wymer Wright (the late Paul) of Sheridan; grandchildren, Nathan (Summer), Eli, and Abigail Hook; Ethan, Marcus, Lily, and Katherine Wymer; Meghan (Nathan) Wymer-Hall, Anna Wymer, and Cora Wymer; Marie, Claire, and Alli Domogalik; Hannah and Austin Britt; Olivia, Gideon, and Esther Brimmage.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Elzie Wymer on Thursday, May 31, 2018, 4 to 8 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 9 am., Friday, June 1, 2018, at the funeral home. Rev. Terry Crist will officiate, and burial will be in North Liberty Cemetery, Indianapolis.
