Enola "Gay" Atwell

Enola “Gay” Atwell, 59, Martinsville, died peacefully December 9, 2014, in the Masonic Home in Franklin, where she had been a resident. Gay was born October 7, 1955, in Martinsville, to the late Walter and Orpha Elizabeth (Long) Atwell.

She worked briefly at the McDonald’s in Martinsville and held various positions through Sycamore Services. Gay attended New Community Christian Church, New Testament Baptist Church, and New Life Baptist Church. She will be missed dearly by a loving family.

In addition to her parents, Gay was preceded in death by a sister, Nita Raikes and a brother, Steve Atwell.

Survivors include siblings, Ralph Atwell of Freetown, Judy Pike of Plainfield, Elizabeth Cox of Paragon, Tim Atwell of Florida, Linda Atwell of Indianapolis, Cathy Kingsbury of Bargersville; a host of nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews.

Pastor Jack Elliott will officiate the 10 a.m. funeral service, Saturday, December 13, 2014, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, December 12, 2014, 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
