Ernest C. Johnson

Ernest C. “Ernie” Johnson, 70, Mooresville, died peacefully at home March 25, 2013. Mr. Johnson was born December 28, 1942, in Huron, Indiana, to the late Clyde and Ida (Tolbert) Johnson.

He graduated from Huron High School in 1961. He worked for 31 years for Public Service Indiana, retiring in 2000 as a Load Supervisor. Mr. Johnson was a talented handyman; he could build just about anything and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed landscaping, woodworking, and antiquing. Mr. Johnson was a member of Fairview Church of Christ, Huron. He will be missed by his loving family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Carter and a brother, Earl “Pete” Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth (Earl) Johnson, to whom he was united in marriage May 19, 1962; daughter, Michelle Braughton (Todd) of Mooresville; brother, Edward Johnson of Mitchell; one grandchild, Carlotta Braughton.

The funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2013, in the Carlisle - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2013. Cremation will follow the service at the Morgan County Crematory, Mooresville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
