Ernest R. Adams

Ernest R. Adams, 89, Waverly, passed away September 24, 2021. Mr. Adams was born January 25, 1932, in Liberty, Kentucky, to the late Jessie Howard and Marcella (Faircloth) Adams.

Ernie worked as a millwright for Bridgeport Brass for 37 years. He was a devoted member of Waverly Baptist Church for years. He was also a member of the Greenwood Moose Lodge and the Eagles. Ernie was a people person and enjoyed being very social. Music played a very important role in Ernie’s life. He was an accomplished guitarist and singer, playing in a few bands during his life – Country Grass and Kentucky Blue Grass Express. Above all, Ernie was a wonderful husband and father who took pride in being a loving and good provider. He lived a full life that will be fondly remembered by his loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Raymond, Omer, Junior Adams and Ruby Emerson; grandchildren, Kenneth Adams, Jr. and Brandon Branam.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Jennie (Lundy) Adams; children, Kenneth Adams, Ronald Adams, Brian Branam, and Melissa (Gary) Stevenson; siblings, Jurl Adams, Archie Adams, Nega Lee, Fayerene Walden, and Connie Wilson; three grandchildren, Dakota Branam, Madison Figg, and Parker Stevenson.

Ernie’s Life Celebration® visitation and funeral service will be held at the Waverly Baptist Church. Visitation is Thursday, September 30, 2021, 12 – 2 p.m., with services following at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Bluff Creek Cemetery.
