Ethel Marie Dunham, 87, longtime Mooresville resident, passed away November 22, 2016. Mrs. Dunham was born June 5, 1929, in Morgan County to the late Jonathan E. and Lula Mae (Myrick) Fields. She married the late Heyward Otis Dunham on March 20, 1954, and he preceded her in death on July 14, 2001.
Mrs. Dunham graduated from Mooresville High School. She retired from Automotive Armature and also had worked with Heyward operating Dunham Manufacturing. She was a member of the Mooresville Friends Church, a 50-year member of the Mooresville Order of the Eastern Star, a life-member of the Pythian Sisters, and a longtime member of the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was an accomplished ballroom dancer and even taught lessons through the years. Ethel enjoyed gardening – growing both vegetables and beautiful flowers. A lady who knew the true meaning of faith, hope, love, and forgiveness, she was a rock for her loving and caring family. She could always see the good in others and will be remembered for her kind and generous nature.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Dunham and siblings, Teddy Sampson, Oliver Sampson, and Mary Ethel McKinley.
Survivors include her children, Cinthia Webb (Brian) of Bloomington, Steven Dunham (Special Friend: Sue Scott) of Mooresville, Marla Fredrick (Randy) of Bloomington, and Frank Dunham (Leatha) of Paragon; daughter-in-law, Brenda Dunham of Brooklyn; grandchildren, Tammy Dalmer and Kenneth Charles Dunham; Eric Byrnes, Barry Jason Byrnes, Shayla Kelly (Aaron); Jessica Mardock (Andy) and Chad Dunham (Megan); Brian Scott; Michael Fredrick (Carrie), Rachel Canniff (Josh), Adria Pace (Jon), and Tiffany Fredrick; Melissa Flowers-Henry (James), Steven Flowers (Suzanne Adams), and Samantha Flowers-Clouse (Joe); great grandchildren, Daniel; Haley, Erica, Emily, Cindy, Miles, and Asher; Zach, Hayley, Mike, Brianna, Hannah, Madelyn, Marley, and Remy; Rocky, Scotty, Terrie, Corbin, Adler, Joslyn, and Isaac.
Friends and family will gather Friday, November 25, 2016, 4 to 8 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. An Eastern Star service will begin at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016, 1 p.m., in the Mooresville Friends Church. Burial will follow at the White Lick Cemetery.
