Evelyn Ann (Becker) Sears, 81, lifelong Indianapolis resident, passed away February 21, 2021. Evelyn was born March 29, 1939, in Indianapolis, to the late Harry Arnold and Clara Marie (Chapman) Becker. She married the late Donald P. Sears at River Avenue Baptist Church, where they were both active members.
Evelyn graduated from Washington High School and was a proud homemaker. Her primary vocation through the years always involved children. She loved to take care of children and worked in the day care at the Jewish Community Center and at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Strong in her faith, Evelyn was a 40+ year member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church. She was also an avid studier of the Bible. Evelyn also loved flowers and gardening.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers John and Richard.
Survivors include two sons, David (Tina Eissler) Sears and James Sears; brother, Ed (Debbie) Becker; grandchildren, David Paul, Abigail, Aaron, and Grace; a host of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be Thursday, March 4, 2021, 5 to 7 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., with Rev.
