Evelyn Kay Record Bardes, 78, Avon, Indiana, peacefully passed away December 19, 2021.

Kay was born in Mooresville, Indiana, August 5, 1943 to her parents Oliver Paul Record and Edythe Edell (Wells) Record.

She was predeceased by husband Paul M. Bardes, brothers Calvin P. Record and John H. Record, sister Mayanne Turner, and half-sister Robetine Sawyer.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children Robert B. Campbell, Jr., and Rhonda Campbell Callahan (Tom), grandchildren Robert B. Campbell III, Rebel Nicole Campbell and Shane C. Campbell, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and sister Catherine Jane Record Ham (Jack).

Kay went to school in Mooresville and Monrovia, Indiana. Graduating from Monrovia High School in 1961.

She was a Certified Professional Secretary. She started her work career at Indiana Bell Telephone, went on to work for the State of Indiana, American States Insurance, Northwestern Mutual and Connecticut Mutual Insurance, and earned her life insurance license. Kay eventually went back to work for the State of Indiana and retired from Vincennes University Aviation Technology Center, Indianapolis.

Over the years Kay was a member of the Avon American Legion Auxiliary, Bethel Friends Church, DAR, Plainfield Elks, Salvation Army, Twin Lakes Country Club and Prestwick Country Club.

Kay was an incredibly talented seamstress, cook, baker (her pies and cakes are legendary), golfer (2nd Flight Champion at Twin Lakes and 1st Flight Champion at Prestwick, and let’s not forget her prowess at jigsaw puzzles.

Her true love in life was always her family and friends. Over the years so many were able to stop by for her yearly holiday get togethers at Easter, the Summer Party, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. The food, fun and activities were always the best!

The Prestwick neighborhood meant so very much to her whether we were on the deck at Prestwick or in a friend’s back yard, she loved having a cocktail, telling stories and laughing the night away. These are the things that made her smile - please remember her that way.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Kay’s life on Monday December 27th from 11am-1pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, with services beginning at 1pm Monday in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.

Finally Kay loved animals, especially her little kitties. In lieu of flowers consider sending a donation to the Hendricks County Humane Society, 3033 E. Main Street, Danville, IN, 46122.
