Farley Ray Sayer, 62, Columbus, passed away June 8, 2023, while in the care of Our Hospice House of South-Central Indiana. Farley was born November 10, 1960, in Indianapolis, to the late Thomas Robert and Mildred Beverly (Townsley) Sayer.
Farley graduated from Triton Central High School in 1979 and proudly served in the United States Army and the Indiana National Guard. He worked in Fort Myers, Florida as a Wildland Firefighter for the Division of Forestry for 20 years before retiring. He moved back to Indiana and settled in Columbus in 2013.
A very patriotic and proud American, Farley enjoyed traveling to Washington, D.C. to take in all of our country’s history. He was an accomplished woodworker who also enjoyed construction and gardening. Described as a humble, brave, caring, and very generous man, Farley’s memory will be forever cherished by his loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert S. and Thomas H. Sayer.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Diane (Noble) Sayer; children, Robert Sayer, Charles (Brandee) Sayer, Nicole (Ross) England, Spring (Josh) Wilson, Sarah (Michael) Arnold-Cox, and Shane Dougherty; brother, Edward (Susan) Sayer; sisters, Rita (Butch) Lewis, Peggy (Gary) Hamble, and Kathy King; 15 grandchildren who made him very proud.
Farley’s Life Celebration® Visitation Funeral Service will be held at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, 39 East High Street, Mooresville. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 12 Noon, Tuesday, June 13, 2023, with services following at 12 Noon. Burial with military honors will follow at the Acton Cemetery.
