Florence Bernhard, 76, Indianapolis, died March 17, 2012. She was born August 30, 1935, in Indianapolis, to the late James and Mary (Willoughby) Sparkmon.
Florence graduated from Decatur High School in 1953. She raised eight children and enjoyed working with her flowers, finishing puzzles, books, and frequently donated to local VFW.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Bernhard; infant brother, Bobby; siblings, John, Jim, Kenny, and Josephine Clay.
Survivors include her children, Terry Capuano (Al) of Martinsville, Robert “Bob” Graham (Marilyn) of Indianapolis, David Graham (Pam) of Monrovia, Ralph Graham (Angela) of Centerton, Mary Starkey (James) of Plainfield, Danna Graham, Steven “Butch” Graham (Kim) of Mooresville, and Susan “Susie” Renner (Jeff) of Mooresville; brother, Earl “Leon” Sparkmon of Indianapolis; sister, Joyce Lorrance (Leeman) of Franklin; 19 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may gather after 3 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2012, at David and Pam Graham's Residence, 265 Terrace Drive, Monrovia. Services are being held privately with the family. An inurnment will take place at the West Newton Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are being handled by the Morgan County Crematory.
