Frances E. Goshert, 86 of Mooresville passed away May 21, 2016 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. Frances was born in Indianapolis on September 22, 1929 to the late Levi and Mary L. (Cook) Skaggs. She was happily married to Max Goshert for 13 years. Her two husbands, Anderson Taylor Swope and Charles Ben Allen both preceded her in death.
Frances worked as a teller and in bookkeeping at Citizens Bank and Indiana National Bank for many years. After her career in banking, she and her husband, Charles Ben Allen owned and operated Allen’s Precision Machine and Tool in Mooresville where she managed the office and tended to the bookkeeping. She was a member of Mooresville Friends Church, and a former member of the Brooklyn O.E.S. Frances enjoyed reading, playing the organ and piano, and her pets. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, Frances enjoyed spending time with her family.
Her son, Samuel Johnson Swope; three brothers, William, James and June Skaggs; two sisters, Valencia Patterson and Carrie R. Skaggs; and her foster mother, Lois Elizabeth (Loy) Johnson also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her four daughters, Rebecca Louise Kimball Atkins of Mauckport, IN, Lois Swope (Bob) Dyer of Martinsville, Mary Evelyn Swope of Centerton and Karen Kay (Fred) Allen Chastain of Mooresville; nine grandchildren, Meg Kimball, Philip Kimball, Ellen Kimball, Shannon Cochenour, Michele Kizzee, Chris Hillman, Anderson Painter, Jeff Chastain and Dawn Chastain; 12 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Frances E. Goshert from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 25 at the funeral home. Additional calling will be from 12:00 pm until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Brooklyn Cemetery.
