Frederick William Moehle, 96 of Plainfield, passed away December 22, 2015 at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born May 21, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York to the late William and Elise (Reise) Moehle. Fred proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1937 until 1941 prior to the attacks on Pearl Harbor. A brave soldier, Fred decided to enlist after the horrific attacks on Pearl Harbor; he served for additional four years. His service to his country lead him to become a lifetime member of the VFW.
Fred received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the Pratt Institute in Manhattan and worked as a Power Engineer for UniRoyal for 27 years; he retired in 1982. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Katherine (Brennan) Moehle; two sisters, Anna Jackel and Lillian Gavin.
Survivors include his two sons, Ken Moehle of Avon, Indiana and Paul Moehle of California; three grandchildren, Alyssa Wilcox, Cristina Moehle Loth and Elizabeth Greene; and six great grandchildren.
There will be no calling or services for Fred at this time. Following cremation, he will laid to rest next to Katherine in the Bay Pines National Cemetery, Pinellas County, Florida.
