Gene T. Walls, 88 of Mooresville, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours on October 4, 2015 at his home. He was born October 30, 1926 in Martinsville to the late Frank and Hester (Norman) Walls. On August 14, 1948 Gene was united in marriage to his loving wife, Judith M. (Wise) Walls and she survives.
Gene proudly served his country in the Army during World War II; he served in Europe and Japan and was discharged in 1946. He worked as a machinist for the Allison Gas Turbine Division of General Motors for 30 years retiring in 1981. Gene was a car buff, enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing the guitar. A man of great faith, he was a member of Apostolic Faith Church in Martinsville.
Other survivors include his six children, Stan G. (Charlotte) Walls of Mooresville, Jason E. Walls of Anderson, Myra A. (Kenny) Bryson of Kingsport, TN, Cheryl L. (Alan) Myers of Martinsville, Carol S. (Kim) Conway of Indianapolis and Kim J. (Tony) Weaver of Indianapolis; 11 grandchildren, Trevor and Travis Walls, Brandon Bryson, Audra Smith, Carrie Cole, Craig Myers, Jessica Jackson, Andrea and Scott Conway and Chadwick and Wesley Weaver and 12 great grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Wednesday, October 7 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Nebo Memorial Park in Martinsville.
