Genevieve Sue Knox, 92, Avon, formerly Pennsylvania and South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence in Brownsburg on February 16, 2016. Mrs. Knox was born September 17, 1923, in Carthage, New York, to the late Arthur and Zoe (Waddle) Barnett.
Through the years, Mrs. Knox worked in various factory settings, as a teacher’s assistant, and most recently in data processing for VanGuard. Always one to stay busy and keep her mind active, she loved to read, crochet, and was an avid Scrabble player. She also enjoyed traveling, including several trips to Germany to visit family. Her faith in the Nazarene church was important to her, and she had memberships at the Royersford Church of the Nazarene in Pennsylvania, Columbia First Church of the Nazarene in South Carolina, and Grace Point Church of the Nazarene in Indianapolis. She will be missed by a loving family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard Smith Knox; one son, Donald Richard Knox; one brother, Arthur Gerald Barnett.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Fozard (Jeffrey) of Rogers, Arkansas and Zoe Austin (Dale) of Brownsburg, Indiana; four grandchildren, Scott Austin, Beth Kresge, Keri Huff, and Dana Serfass; great grandchildren, Abel, Teddy, Ben, Matt, Anya, Adam, Anneliese, and Cale.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Plans for a memorial service to be held in the Spring of 2016 will be announced later.
