George W. Benton, Jr., 54, of Monrovia, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at his residence in Monrovia after a courageous battle with cancer. George was born May 10, 1962 in Indianapolis to the late George W. Benton, Sr. and Shannon F. (Lahr) Benton.
He was most proud of his work as a mechanic at Butch’s Small Engines in Hall for many years and was also employed at Cra-Wal Container in Indianapolis for 17 years. George was a member of Monrovia Christian Church.
Survivors include his two sisters, Irene R. (David) Erwin of Monrovia and Sharon A. Brooks of Martinsville; and his nieces and nephews, Shelly, Larry, Allison, Anthony, Kayla and Brandon.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of George W. Benton from Noon until 2:00 p.m. at Monrovia Christian Church. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville.
