Ginny Hobbs Willhite Kerr, 79, Mooresville, passed away May 28, 2023. Ginny was born October 28, 1943, in Long Beach, California, to the late Woodrow and Juanita (Joerendt) Hobbs. She was married to the late Jim S. Kerr for 29 years before his death in 2013.
She graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1962. Ginny was a bookkeeper professionally and worked for State Auto, the Alyn Company and for Steak & Shake prior to her retirement. Ginny was a strong Christian and was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church, Mooresville. She was also a part of the church’s United Methodist Women, quilting group, and the Henderson Mission Team. She was an avid and accomplished crafter who enjoyed sewing, quilting, needlework, and crocheting. She will be remembered for her servant’s heart – she was the consummate caregiver who was always caring for others, whether it be a friend, neighbor, or family member. Above all, Ginny was strongly devoted to her family and greatly enjoyed being a grandma and attending as many of her grandchildren’s events as possible.
Survivors include her children, Doug Kerr, Marci (Brent) Evenson, Jayne (Jeff) McAllister, Rob (Sally) Kerr, Tricia (Bob) Longo, Julie (Randy) Sanders, and Tammie (Mike) Vanderipe; 18 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
Ginny’s Life Celebration® Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 900 Indianapolis Road, Mooresville. Visitation will be Friday, June 2, 2023, 2 to 4 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 4 p.m. Cremation will follow services, and inurnment will take place in White Lick Cemetery.
