Glendal R. Petty, Sr., 70, Indianapolis, died December 24, 2015. Glen was born August 27, 1945, in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee, to the late Cecil and Berniece (Hall) Petty.
He attended George Washington High School and worked for many years as a licensed plumber. He worked for BDP for 15 years. He was a member of the Plumbers’ Local Union #440 and worked for various contractors through the years. Glen enjoyed motorcycles and was partial to Harleys and even more so to Triumphs. He was also an accomplished bowler in his younger years. He will be missed by a loving family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy (Peal) Petty; a daughter, Ronna Barton; a brother, Rondal Petty.
Survivors include children, Glen Petty, Jr. of Mooresville and Stephen Petty of Lafayette; brothers, Wendell Petty (Carla) of Indianapolis and Donald Petty of Paragon; grandchildren, Cole and Shacotta Petty; Marc Lucas and Iris Marie Petty; Amber and Heather Barton; great grandchild, Corra Barton.
Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, 4 to 8 p.m. in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Pastor Jack Elliott will officiate the 10 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, December 31, 2015, in the funeral home. Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery.
