Glenn Gibson, 75, Mooresville, died June 8, 2011, in St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis. Mr. Gibson was born August 14, 1935, in Pennington Gap, Virginia, to the late Roscoe and Effie (Jones) Gibson.
Mr. Gibson worked for United Technology/Bryant for more than 30 years, retiring in 1995. He had been a member of the Mooresville Eagles and formerly of the VFW Post 1111. He enjoyed camping, fishing, mushroom hunting, and boating.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Gibson and his second wife, Peggy Gibson.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Gibson; children, Jefferey Gibson of Texas, Thomas Gibson (Mary) of Martinsville, Kelly Gibson (Sherry) of Camby, April McElroy (John) of Mooresville; sisters, Ruby Moore of Virginia and Ruth; grandchildren, Amanda, Jason, Destiny, Jefferey Jr., Tyneka, Tommy Jr., Molly, Mary Ann, Billy Ray, Deborah Lynn, Jerricka, Kelly Jr., Rebeckah, Mathew, Shelby, Kristen, and Joseph; 19 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, June 13, 2011, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 12, 2011. Burial will be in the Mooresville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Stroke Foundation.
