Glenna M. Burger
74, of Camby, passed away on March 27, 2023 at Life’s Journey in Avon. Glenna was born on April 9, 1948 to the late U.B. Harp and Nellie (Powers) Harp in rural Whitley County, Kentucky. She was the 6th of 8 children. She grew up in South Central Kentucky and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1973.
She married Harry M. (Michael) Burger on April 24, 1976. Together they had two daughters Rachel and Rebecca. She was a professional secretary all her working life. The last eight years of her working life were served as secretary at Life Line Baptist Church, where she was a long time member.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, knitting, puzzles, playing cards, especially Rummy, Skipbo and Scrabble. She will be remembered for being a Christian, who was vocal and spoke her mind, but also being a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Winford K. Harp, Raymond H. Harp, and her daughter Rebecca L. Burger.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Harry Michael Burger; daughter Rachel L. (Burger) Padgett and husband Gary, Camby, IN; her siblings, James R. Harp, Louisville, KY; Robert C. Harp, Martinsville, IN; Martha D. Cobb and husband Wayne, New Albany, IN, Charles D. Harp and wife Janet, Bainbridge, IN, Edward S. Harp and wife Janice, Somerset, KY; two granddaughters, Katlyn N. (Padgett) Long and husband Timothy M. Long, Brianna M. Padgett and three great-grandchildren, Titan Rhyman Long, Kay-Lynn Grace Long, and Scarlette Rose Long.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Glenna’s life on Monday, April 3rd from 4-8pm at Life Line Baptist Church, 13387 N. Slideoff Rd. Camby. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 4th at 11am at the Church. Burial will follow the services at Washington Park North Cemetery, Indianapolis.
