Harold E. Handy, 84, Indianapolis, died June 4, 2011. Mr. Handy was born April 6, 1927, in Indianapolis, to the late William H. and Elva (Lester) Handy.
A 36-year member of Teamsters Local #135, Mr. Handy was employed for many years at Daum Overnight Express, retiring in 1985. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, James, Sam, and Marguerite Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marquetta “Mike” (Cannon) Handy; sons, David Handy (Sharalyn) of New Palestine, Robbin Handy (Carol) of Indianapolis, and Jeff Handy (Elaine) of Noblesville; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
The funeral service will begin at 7 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2011, at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 p.m. A committal service, with military honors, will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, 10 a.m., in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
