Harold Eugene Thompson, 75, of Mooresville, passed at the Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis on Sunday, October 13, 2024. He was born in Greencastle to the late Harold Thompson and Elva Etta (Greeson) Thompson on May 25, 1949.
He graduated from Plainfield High School with the class of 1968. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. On November 12, 1974, he married the love of his life, Linda Sue Fox. The couple will be married fifty years in November of this year.
Harold worked as a truck driver and dock worker for Yellow / YRC in Indianapolis from 1976 until his retirement after 35 years of service on October 28, 2011. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping in his spare time. An avid tinkerer, Harold often referred to himself as a jack of all trades and a master of none. Additionally, he enjoyed mowing on his John Deere tractor. No matter what he was doing, he enjoyed working as a team with his wife. The two were the dependable dynamic duo and a package deal.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends including his wife, Linda Thompson of Mooresville; sisters, Rose Spurling of Indianapolis and Sarah Reed of Mooresville; and many nieces and nephews.
