Harry McDaniel, Jr., 86, Indianapolis, died February 20, 2012, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Mooresville. Mr. McDaniel was born March 17, 1925, in Indianapolis, to the late Harry and Crystal (Emery) McDaniel.
He graduated from Lawrence Central High School and proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr McDaniel worked for Palmer Dodge for 52 years, retiring as the service manager. He was a member of American Legion Post #495 and the Broad Ripple Masonic Lodge. Mr. McDaniel enjoyed camping, boating, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine (Brown) McDaniel; daughter, Judith Mitchell; granddaughter, Candace.
Survivors include his sons, David McDaniel (Sandra) of Mooresville and Mike McDaniel of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Krystal, Matthew, and Siminda; four great grandchildren, Jadon, Destiny, Alexandra, and Isabella.
Friends and family will gather from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2012, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The graveside service will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2012, in Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown.
