Hazel Price, 96, Mooresville, passed away December 19, 2017, in her residence at Meadow Lakes. Mrs. Price was born September 5, 1921, in Sullivan County, to the late Grover and Evaline (Alumbaugh) Kirk.
Hazel worked as a secretary at Thor Power & Tool for a number of years. She and her late husband, George, were also co-owners of Hillcrest Garden Shop and Green Thumb Nursery. She was a devoted member of Mt. Gilead Church. Hazel enjoyed working puzzles and learned to use a computer at the age of 73 and could often be found playing a game of solitaire on her computer. Above all, Hazel was strongly devoted to her family. She will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Price and five siblings.
Survivors include two sons, George (Lisa) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Gary of Indianapolis; sister, Vera Harris of Mooresville; brother, Earl (Carol) Kirk of Fairbanks; five granddaughters; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate and honor the live of Hazel Price on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, 4 to 7 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at the funeral home. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt.
