Helen E. (Stearns) Harris Shope

99, of Plainfield, passed away on May 24, 2017. Helen was born on August 20, 1917 in West Baden, Indiana to the late Jason and Edith (Hustler) Stearns.

Helen was a proud homemaker and was known for her wonderful talent as a seamstress. She also enjoyed knitting and crotchet. She was also a member of the First Baptist Chuch in Mooresville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands John J. Harris, Clemmon Shope, brothers; Cecil, Ronnie, Lewis, Bob and sisters; Della, Shirley and Norma Jean.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews, whom she considered as her children.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
