Helen Ruth Heaton, 96, Mooresville, died peacefully at home July 7, 2015. Mrs. Heaton was born September 14, 1918, in Milan, to the late Homer and Emma (Hurlbrink) Huntington.
Mrs. Heaton was a proud homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Tri Kappa Philanthropic Sorority. Helen enjoyed reading and gardening. She especially enjoyed growing beautiful flowers at her home in downtown Mooresville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lyman Heaton and siblings, William Cain, John Cain, and Frances Mennach.
She will be fondly remembered by her loving family that includes one son, William R. Heaton of Mooresville; daughters, Barbara Pinkerton (Max) of Bloomington, Julia Ohara (James) of Hawaii, and Christine Franklin (Robert) of Indianapolis; one brother, Laurence Huntington of Dearborn, Michigan; grandchildren, Richard Pinkerton, Joyce Downing, Jane Pilgrim, Jennifer Pinkerton, Laura Wongkar, and Steve Franklin; ten great grandchildren.
The family extends special thanks and gratitude to Heartland Hospice and especially to Denise Delp and Christina Midyette for their care during Helen’s final days.
Friends and family will gather Saturday, July 11, 2015, 1 to 3 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Rev. Dennis Payton will officiate the funeral service at 3 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Mooresville Cemetery.
