Hollis Earl Miller
91, of Mooresville, passed away on December 22, 2021 at Meadow Lakes in Mooresville. Hollis was born on September 4, 1930, in Casey County, Kentucky to the late William Silas Miller and Bertha Vivian (Thomas) Miller.
Hollis and his family moved to Indiana in 1938 and he graduated from Mooresville High School in 1950. He was employed by Allison’s from 1950-1951. Hollis was inducted into the United States Army on March 13, 1951. He served two years at Ft. Riley, Kansas, before being discharged on March 13, 1953. Hollis remained in Kansas City, Missouri for thirty-five years.
Hollis married Patricia Mountain in 1986 in Missouri and they moved to Indiana in 1987. Patricia preceded him in death on August 16, 2006. In 2007, Hollis married Eleanor Wyatt and they were members of the Plainfield Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Miller; his children Ann Julich (Peter), Jim Miller (Kay), son in law Michael Phelps, ten grandchildren, five nieces and five nephews.
Daughter Loretta Miller Phelps preceded her father in death on May 31, 2018. Hollis was also preceded in death by five brothers, Alvis Miller, Luchion Miller, Elbie Miller, Olen Miller, Roscoe Miller, and sister Mary Pearl Miller Goodman.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Hollis Earl Miller, on Wednesday December 29th from 10am-11am at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with funeral services beginning at 11am Wednesday in the funeral home, with Pastor Steve White, officiating. Burial will follow the services in White Lick Cemetery, with military honors.
