Imogene E. Wood
103, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024. Imogene was the daughter of Weaver B. Emmert and Clara (Whitecotton) Emmert. She was born on June 27, 1921 in Montezuma, Indiana. She was the widow of the late James R. Wood. They were married on November 15, 1941.
She was a graduate of Montezuma High School in 1939. She attended Indiana State University Teachers College, (now Indiana State University). She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Sorority, and also a member of the Sycamore Players.
A Mooresville resident since 1950, she worked many years as a secretary in the guidance department at the High School. She was a 50 plus year member of the First Christian Church, Bay View Club, Tri Kappa Chapter in Mooresville, a 50-year member of the Eastern Star Montezuma Chapter, and the Birthday Group in Mooresville.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter, Larry (Barbara) Wood of Carmel, IN, John (Shirley) Wood of Plainfield, IN, Jeannie Wood Easton (Tom Green) of Mercer Island, WA. Eight grandchildren Mike (Stephanie) Wood of Fishers, IN, April (Grady) Cochran of Noblesville, IN, Meghan (Matt) Trees of Cicero, IN, Matt (Debbie) Wood of Chicago, IL, Brooke (Chris) Carlson of Sammamish, WA, Emily Easton of Mercer Island, WA, Ben (Annie) Easton of London, England, Drew (Joanna) Easton of Seattle, WA, as well as 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters Kathleen Collings Bosworth, Virginia Milam, and Marilyn Crooke Scott.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, November 9th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Carlisle - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. Imogene's Life Celebration Memorial Service will follow beginning at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in White Lick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to be made in Imogene’s memory to the First Christian Church, 525 N. Indiana Street, Mooresville, IN 46158 OR to the Mooresville Public Library, 220 W. Harrison Street, Mooresville, IN 46158.
