Irene Palvas
88, of Mooresville, passed away on January 28, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. Irene was born on April 19, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Louis Daravanis and Angeline (Karras) Daravanis.
Irene worked as a bookkeeper and office manager throughout her life for Allied Insurance, Dr. James Platis, and most recently for her daughter, Dr. Stephanie Litz. She enjoyed keeping her mind and body sharp by playing Tennis, Golf, Bowling, Greek Dancing, Reading, doing Crossword puzzles, Sewing, Traveling, and Cooking. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed cheering on her hometown Chicago Bears and Cubs, and took great pride in seeing the Cubs win the World Series in 2016. She also enjoyed going to Indianapolis Repertory Theatre, Clowes Concert series, especially listening to her favorite artist, Andrea Bocelli. She will be remembered for her homemade cooking of Thanksgiving dressing, twice baked potatoes, bacon, and traditional Greek dishes, Spanokopita and Tiropita.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Palvas, and a brother Bill.
She is survived by her son Brian Palvas, daughter Stephanie Litz (Steven), sister Mary, brother Art, grandchildren Mark, Kristina, Karen, Brandon, Marika, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Family and friends will gather for Irene’s Life Celebration® visitation on Saturday, Feb. 4th from 12:30-2:30pm at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory Mooresville, with funeral services beginning at 2:30pm Saturday in the funeral home. Following the services, the family would like to invite family and friends to join them at Stone Creek Restaurant in Plainfield in a time of food and fellowship in continuing to celebrate Irene’s life.
Out of respect for the family, all who are attending the visitation and services are required to wear a mask.
