Jack Hughes, 71, of Camby, passed away March 30, 2021 at home peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born September 19, 1949 in South Fort, Kentucky, to the late William B. and Essie Mae (Tharp) Hughes. Jack married the love of his life Nancy Jo Jacobs, on December 7, 1968
Jack owned and operated Hughes & Son’s Masonry. He later worked for Catellier Salvage & Wrecking as a truck driver. Jack enjoyed being out in nature. He loved to go fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed going bowling and watching T.V. Jack’s biggest pride in life was his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Thomas Hughes; and brothers, Rainey, Joe Paul, Willie, and Wendil Hughes.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Nancy; sons, Thomas (Lesley), Jeremiah (Crystal), and Jackie (Virginia) Hughes; sister, Wanda (Carlos) Lachooga; grandchildren, Jeremiah (Shiann), Jordan, Brady, Joshua, Maddie Jo, Keely Mae, Blaine, Rayden, Jackson, McKenzie, Mason, Kaden, Jensen, and Kendal; great grandchildren, Lainey, Shawn, Essie, and Emma.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Jack Hughes Friday, April 2, 2021, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery.
