Jack Lane Dillon, 84, Monrovia, died peacefully at home on April 29, 2012. Mr. Dillon was born September 26, 1927, in Monrovia, to the late Lane and Inez V. (McCracken) Dillon.
Mr. Dillon worked for Granager Excavating for 30 years and later retired from American Trans Air. He was a member of the Monrovia Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years. He also proudly served in the United States Army. Mr. Dillon enjoyed flying and taught his only son how to fly. He was often doing things for others and was known for his knack for fixing things.
Mr. Dillon was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn (Montgomery) Dillon and a sister, Rosamond Carter.
Survivors include one son, Monte Dillon (Julia) of Mooresville; brother, Fredric Dillon (Mary) of Monrovia; sister, Kay Horner (Richard) of Mooresville; one grandson, Jack Dillon.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2012, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2012. Rev. Terry Crist will officiate, and burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
