Jack R. King, 87, Mooresville, died peacefully at home February 14, 2016. Mr. King was born July 5, 1928, in Paoli, to the late Ray and Flo (McDonald) King.
An accomplished mechanic, Mr. King worked for Mayflower for 38 years. Additionally, he was co-owner of a sprint car and was the mechanic for the team. Mr. King was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed fishing, and tinkering with classic cars. In earlier years, he enjoyed traveling with his family and creating great family memories through their camping trips.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry King; one brother, Bud King; sister, Helen Stroud; son-in-law, John Lambert.
Survivors include his wife, Ann (Dezarn) King, to whom he was united in marriage October 26, 1945; son, Roy King (Vicki) of Mooresville; daughters, Donna Lambert of Camby and Jackie Perry of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Amber VanBlaricum, Amanda Alford, Brad Garber, Christina Deeter, and Jenny King; seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; daughter-n-law, Kay King of Plainfield.
A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m., Friday, February 19, 2016, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until service time.
