James F. Kloboucnik, 80, Brooklyn, passed away peacefully at home on July 30, 2015. Jim was born November 11, 1934, in Marion, to the late Louis and Pearl (Brown) Kloboucnik.
He graduated from Marion High School, attended Marion College (now Indiana Wesleyan), and later graduated from Ball State University. Jim worked as a teacher at Roseburg Junior High School. For many years, he worked as a Professional Engineer at the Marion VA Medical Center, where he also ran the Fire Academy. He also served as the Assistant State Fire Marshall under Governor Evan Bayh for eight years. Jim attended the Brooklyn Christian Church and served as president of the Brooklyn Town Council. He was an avid toy train enthusiast and was also proud to have flown on the B-58 Hustler. Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force Reserves and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Eileen (Baldwin) Kloboucnik.
Survivors include his son, Edwin Kloboucnik (Nancy) of Texas and a daughter, Coleen Jeffries of Brooklyn; grandchildren, Crystal Jeffries, Travis Ingoldsby, Mandie Marsh, and Dixie Foltz; great grandchildren, Jillian Foltz and Wyatt Scott; “chosen daughter”, Jan Sams (Pastor Frank) of Brooklyn.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2015, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, with calling there from 11 a.m. Pastor Bill Burkley will officiate, and burial will be in the Brooklyn Cemetery.
