James P. Fletcher
79, of Mooresville, passed away July 23, 2018, peacefully in his sleep at his home. Jim was born on July 29, 1938 in Anderson, Indiana to the late William A. Fletcher and Anna R. (Huddlestun) Fletcher.
Jim earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University. He then worked as a systems analyst for Allison and EDS for many years before retiring. A faithful servant to his Lord, he and his wife Ruth were active members at Valley Mills Christian Church, where he taught Sunday school and served as an Elder for 36 years and later an active member of Mt. Gilead Christian Church in Mooresville.
In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family camping and wintering in Florida. Additionally, antique bottle collecting and stamp collecting, where he wrote several articles on stamp collecting. He also enjoyed following his favorite sports teams; The Pacers, Colts and IU.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son; John K. Fletcher.
He is survived by wife of 58 years; Ruth (Munro) Fletcher, sons; Christian D. (Cheryl) Fletcher of Poland, IN, Phillip P. Fletcher of Mooresville, daughters; Lynette R. (Michael) Cowper of Martinsville, Janna M. (Todd) Himes of Danville, IN, brother; John E. (Becky) Fletcher of Leo, IN, sister; Judy McNab of Florida, 3 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 10am-12noon Mt. Gilead Christian Church, Mooresville, with services at 12noon on Saturday at the church.
According to Jim’s wishes, he will be cremated and placed in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to Valley Mills Christian Church or Mt. Gilead Christian Church.
Arrangements are entrusted to Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
