James T. Fulkerson of Mooresville died on February 14, 2019 at the age of 81. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. and Ethel Fulkerson, and his brother Charles L. Fulkerson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary (Steiner) Fulkerson; son Martin Fulkerson (Monica), daughters Kathy Lowe and Julie Fulkerson (Jeff Dillon), sons David Fulkerson (Michelle) and Paul Fulkerson-Bird (Loretta). Also surviving are eleven grandchildren: Kaitlyn Lowe, Benjamin Fulkerson-Bird, Jake Fulkerson, Matthew Lowe, Samantha Fulkerson-Bird, Levi Fulkerson, Caelan Fulkerson, Shaun Fulkerson, Reanna Dillon, Auttie Fulkerson, and Bentley Fulkerson. Finally, he is survived by brother John M. Fulkerson.
James served in the U.S. Air Force in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from 1957 to 1961. He worked for AT&T for 27 years.
He was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Communication Workers of America Local 4900, and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul.
James enjoyed woodworking and farming.
Family and friends will gather for a wake from 2:00pm-6:00pm on February 17th at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Mass will begin at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1200 N. Indiana St., Mooresville Monday February 18th at 10:00 a.m. A private family burial will follow at a later date.
