Janet Ann (Carr) Shrum

73, of Franklin, IN passed away on March 22, 2020 at home, surrounded by her family. Janet was born on May 31, 1946 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Austin E. and Alice (Harris) Carr.

Janet was a respiratory therapist for Community Hospital South for 23 years before retiring. She was also a faithful member of Mt. Gilead Church, Mooresville.

She was the matriarch and the rock of her family. Her family was everything to her. She married Jerry Shrum on May 30, 2003 and were happily married for 16 years. Jerry says that Janet was the best thing to ever happen to him. Additionally, she enjoyed playing with her grandkids, growing flowers, antiques, shopping and going to car shows with Jerry. However, her family will remember her most for her great sense of humor, being a fabulous cook and will miss her homemade stuffing, butterscotch pies and her homemade egg rolls.

In addition to her parents and husbands Duane Walls and Charles Pendleton, she was also preceded in death by her sister Theresa Coffey.

She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Jerry Shrum; children David (Tammie) Walls, Nathan (Jackie) Pendleton, Aaron (Andrea) Pendleton, Darla Cook, Deanna (Scott) Colwell, Tammy Sue (Chris) Walker, Rebecca Jo (Jeff) Perkins, Catherine (Eric) Richards; brother Ted Carr; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A celebration of Janet’s life will be held on Monday, June 15th from 4-6:30pm, with a service beginning at 6:30pm at Mt. Gilead Church, 6019 E S R 144, Mooresville, IN 46158.

Memorial contributions may be made in Janet’s memory to her good friend and minister, Dave Thurman to assist with his medical costs. Checks may be mailed to Mt. Gilead Church, 6019 E S R 144, Mooresville, IN 46158.

Cremation and final arrangements are entrusted to Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
