Janet Eileen Hudson, 82, Mooresville, passed away peacefully September 14, 2019. Janet was born February 5, 1937, in Danville, Illinois, to the late Clair and Lillie (Donley) Ingalsbe. She married the late Hal LeRoy Hudson on August 17, 1957, and he preceded her in death in 1983.
Janet graduated from Bismarck (IL) High School, earned an associate’s degree from the Cincinnati Bible College, and a bachelor’s degree from the English Nanny & Governess School. She and Hal were involved in fulltime active ministry until his death in 1983. They were also involved with the Christian Restoration Association for seven years. Janet was an accomplished pianist, directed multiple children’s and adult choirs in Illinois and Kentucky, and later taught piano at Baldwin Piano in Cincinnati. Following Hal’s death and raising her children, Janet pursued a true passion and spent many years on the mission field. She served in Australia, Philippines, Jamaica, India, Africa, and Honduras. Janet was a strong Christian and a faithful member of Mt. Gilead Christian Church. Her memory will be cherished by a loving family and many friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Irvin Ingalsbe; sister, Lois Huffman.
Survivors include her children, Brenda (Dennis) Faulkner of Mooresville, Chad (the late Renae) Hudson of Covington, Kentucky, and Marla (Greg) O’Dell of Mooresville; brother, Harold Ingalsbe of Seymour; sister, Beulah Smith of Peoria, Illinois; nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 23, 2019, 4 to 8 p.m., at Mt. Gilead Church, 6019 E. State Road 144, Mooresville. Jeff Faull will officiate the 10 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at the church. The committal service will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. (CDT) in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Danville, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the church, and envelopes will be available at services. Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory is handling arrangements.
