Janice K. Gott

Janice K. “Grandma Jan” Gott, 68, Camby, passed away June 1, 2021, after a brief diagnosis with multiple myeloma. Jan was born March 2, 1953, in Pennington Gap, Virginia, to the late Lawrence and Edna (Poteet) Willis.

She graduated from Mooresville High School and worked for several years in the cafeteria at North Madison Elementary School. Jan’s greatest vocation revolved around her children – she was the best babysitter and grandma anyone could ever ask for. She loved children, made them feel special and important, and would do anything for them. She was a proud homemaker and a fulltime grandma for the past 24 years. Jan was a night owl and was known to keep her own clock – always staying up late and getting up late. She enjoyed drinking her cappuccino, smoking Marlboro’s, and loved eating out – sometimes she even enjoyed John’s home-cooked meals. Jan’s memory will be cherished by her loving family and many close friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Garcie Willis and a sister, Phyllis Osborne.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, John Gott; sons, Tommy (Angi) Gunnell and Steven (Laura) Dance; step-daughter, Jennifer Werner; brothers, Earl (Brenda), Randell (Mary), Curt, and Dave (Debbie) Willis; sister, Nancy (Bob) May; grandchildren, Chandler, Kaelee (Vito), and Madyson; Grayson, Norah, and Grant; Codi and Cameron; great grandchildren, Sophia and Octavian.

Friends and family will gather Tuesday, June 8, 2021, 4 to 8 p.m., at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at the funeral home, with Pastor Tony Cannon officiating. Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery.
