Jason Eric Hayden, 47, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital. He was born in Franklin on October 23, 1976, to Joseph and Nan (Doty) Hayden. Jason graduated from Monrovia High School in 1995. He married Sarah Gerholdt on March 1, 2003, and she survives. Jason was a machine operator for Rolls Royce in Indianapolis for 17 years, where he was currently employed.
Jason was full of life. He used his beautiful voice to sing every day and put a smile on his family's faces. He was always being silly with his children, making TikTok’s and talking in character voices. Jason enjoyed playing video games, card games, or games on his phone. He would tinker and fix things that were broken, on his own time of course. Recently, Jason and Sarah found a passion for traveling together. They enjoyed taking trips with each other as well as taking trips with their children. Above all, his family was his number one priority.
Jason was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Willard and Grace (Fredrick) Hayden; and maternal grandparents, Sheldon and Lucille (Hinds) Doty.
Mooch, as his family knew him, will be greatly missed by his loving family including his wife of 20 years, Sarah Hayden; sons, Thomas, Alexzander, and George Hayden; daughters, Kayleigh and Alice Hayden; parents, Joseph and Nan Hayden; sister, Wendy Bain; nephew, Jacob Martin; niece, Ashlynn Bain; great-nephew, Cooper Bain; mother and father-in-law, Lloyd and Barbara Gerholdt; brother-in-laws, Matthew Gerholdt and Daniel (Brandi) Gerholdt; sister-in-law, Rebekah (Dakota) Lane; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Jason’s life on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., in the chapel at Carlisle - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. His earthly remains will be cremated after the service. Jason gave the ultimate gift of life through organ donation.
