Jay Dean Turley, 79, Mooresville, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family, November 29, 2014, after a long struggle with illness. Jay was born one of four children to the late Harold and Mildred (Plummer) Turley on May 4, 1935. Two brothers and a sister survive.
Jay was a lifelong resident of Morgan County. He was a business owner/operator, in the construction industry, for over 40 years. His interests included aviation, antique automobiles, and travel. Throughout his life he was blessed with many good friends, by whom, he will be sadly missed.
Devoted to family, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nila Jo (Rusie) Turley; sons, Jeffery H. Turley and Brian D. Turley (Sharon); granddaughters, Casey (Turley) Bailey, S. Paige Turley; and great granddaughter, Madison Beals. They anchored his life and were the center of his being.
Rev. Terry Crist will officiate the 7 p.m. funeral service on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the service time at the funeral home. A private burial will be held in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Memorial contributions may be made in Jay’s memory to the American Cancer society or Morgan County Humane Society.
