Jean E. Sims, 80, Monrovia, died January 26, 2012, in The Waters of Martinsville. Mrs. Sims was born November 14, 1931, in Indianapolis, to the late James Tillberry and Ruth (Ricketts) Clark.
She was a proud and very capable homemaker, caring tenderly and lovingly for her husband and seven children. She was an excellent cook and also enjoyed working word searches. She will be missed by her loving family and friends.
Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Sims and a son, Sidney 'John' Sims.
Survivors include her children, Tom Sims of Monrovia, Joanna Sims of Monrovia, Evelyn Averitt (Doug) of Mooresville, Tim Sims of Martinsville, Joe Sims of Monrovia, and David Sims of Monrovia; brother, William 'Bud' Tillberry of Indianapolis; four grandchildren; one great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012, 4 to 8 p.m., at Carlisle - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, and from 10 to 11 a.m., on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Rev. Jack Elliott will officiate the 11 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hall.
