Jerry D. Stansbury

Jerry D. Stansbury, 77, Martinsville, passed away February 1, 2019. Jerry was born February 19, 1941, in Indianapolis, to the late Guy L. and Ladeana (Thompson) Stansbury. He married Karen Roberson on February 26, 1961, and she survives.

Jerry graduated from Clayton High School and furthered his education through the apprenticeship program at General Motors. He worked at G.M. for 37 years, retiring in 1997 as a foreman. Jerry was a member of Fleming Garden Christian Church, Mooresville Masonic Lodge #78, Scottish Rite, and a former member of the Murat Shrine. Jerry enjoyed being a coach for his sons and many of their friends through the years. Above all, Jerry will be fondly remembered by his loving family as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Stansbury.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; sons, Scott (Sharon) Stansbury of Cincinnati and Jeff Stansbury of Noblesville; two grandchildren, Andrew (Andrea) Stansbury and Chaney Jo Stansbury.

Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, 4 to 8 p.m., in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
