Jerry Lee Coleman, 77, Mooresville, passed away July 19, 2018. Jerry was born October 12, 1940, in Alma, Michigan, to the late Jack and Pauline (Kelley) Coleman.
He graduated from Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn, Michigan and proudly served in the United States Air Force. Jerry enjoyed working as an air traffic controller from 1968-81. He was also co-owner of Sycamore Realty with his late wife, Beverley. Most recently, he worked for the last nine years at the Mooresville Lowe’s. Jerry was a member of Mt. Gilead Church. He enjoyed playing chess and working puzzles, especially Sudoku, but above all Jerry was strongly devoted to his family. He will be fondly remembered by a loving family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverley A. Coleman; son, Terry Coleman; brother, Richard Coleman.
Survivors include one son, Tim Coleman of Mooresville; daughters, Sherry (David) Grubbs of Fort Wayne and Kelly (Matt) Pumphrey of Indianapolis; brother, Dennis Coleman of Grand Junction, Colorado; grandchildren, Kiarra and Nicholas Pumphrey; Sarah (Aaron) Kimble, Nathan (Matty) Grubbs, Johnathan Grubbs, Abigail Grubbs, and Levi Grubbs; Taylor, Brittany, and Ryan Coleman; great grandchildren, David Kimble, Braxton Woodrum, and Addy Starrett.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate Jerry’s life from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2018, in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The service to celebrate his life will follow at 7 p.m., officiated by Rev. Terry Crist. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Mt. Gilead Church.
