Jerry M. Davee

September 11, 1936 — April 3, 2017

Jerry M. Davee, 80, Mooresville, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of April 3, 2017. Jerry was born September 11, 1936, in Brooklyn, to the late James B. and Inez Blanch (Traub) Davee.

He graduated from Martinsville High School in 1954 and earned degrees from Purdue University, with a BS degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Structures. Upon his graduation from Purdue in 1960, Jerry went to work for the Tousley- Bixler Construction Company, where he was a project manager for a number of construction projects, including the renovation of Methodist Hospital and The Natatorium. Jerry proudly served in the United State Army. He was a Professional Engineer and the Executive Vice President for Smock Fansler Construction Company, where he worked for the past 31 years. He was a life member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity as a student at Purdue. Jerry was a devoted member and Elder Emeritus of the Mooresville First Christian Church and was recently awarded the Grandma Bucker Award by the church. Always one to stay active, Jerry enjoyed wood working, and gardening and attending Purdue, Colts, Pacers and Indy 500 events. Above all, he was a loyal family man who will be fondly remembered by his loved ones and many friends and business associates.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Charles Davee, Merrill Davee, and Marian Adams.

Survivors include his wife, Peg (Read) Davee, to whom he was united in marriage on September 7, 1958; children, Lynn Kolcun (Steve) of Columbus, Ohio, Jim Davee (Sheila) of Dayton, Ohio, Joe Davee (Jen) of Cartersburg, and Pete Davee (Tracie) of San Diego, California; sister, Judy Armstrong (Arlan) of Mooresville; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the First Christian Church, 525 N. Indiana Street, Mooresville, Sunday April 23rd at 4:00pm, with visitation from 2:00pm until time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville.
