Jessie Louise (Rash) Payton, 69, Camby, passed away peacefully January 24, 2022. Mrs. Payton was born October 14, 1952, in Danville, Kentucky, to the late Clyde and Christina Rash. She married James Vernon Payton on February 2, 1971, and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2018.
She graduated from Ben Davis High School and was the owner of the Jack’s Pizza in Mooresville for ten years. Jessie was an avid shopper – so avid that she was known in the purse department at Macy’s. She was an elegant lady who always enjoyed looking her best. She was incredibly supportive and protective of her family – her husband, sons, and grandchildren were the absolute tops in Louise’s world. She and Jim enjoyed winters in DeBary, Florida. Louise’s memory will be forever cherished by a loving family and many friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Luther and James Rash; sisters, Judy Bewley and Phyllis Chapman; special niece Christina Louise Rash.
Survivors include her sons, James Vernon Payton, Jr. and Jake (Cristina) Payton; brothers, Clyde “Bubby” Rash and Sherman Rash; grandchildren, Cody Payton, Adyson Payton, and Bailey Payton.
The Life Celebration® Visitation will be Friday, 4 – 8 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery.
